Jambi’s Exports In May Up 2.92 Pct To $71.66 M

Jambi ( Berita ) :  Jambi province’s exports in May rose 2.92 percent to US$71.66 million from US$69.63 a month earlier.

The exports consisted of processed goods worth US$69.39 million, agricultural produce worth US$1.32 million and mining products worth US$954,000, Head of the Jambi Office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Dyan Promono Efendi said on Monday.

Singapore was the biggest market for Jambi’s exports in May with a value of US$21.94 million, he said.

Malaysia came in second with US$13.79 million, followed by the United States (US$10.88 million), Japan (US$10.58 million), and China (US$4.68 million), he said.

Compared to April, Jambi’s exports to China, Singapore, Japan, Australia and Germany fell by 9 percent in May, while its exports to South Korea, the United States and Malaysia rose 10 percent, he said. ( ant )
