Nomad N22 P-817 To Become Monument

Batam ( Berita ) : The Nomad N22 P-817 which20 years ago went down in the ocean, on Friday at 6:20 p.m had been moved by Indonesian naval personnel to the beach where it will be cut into pieces for easy reassembly and set up as a monument at the Western Fleet’s Air Unit (Satudarmabar) in Tanjungpinang.
“Tomorrow (Saturday, June 30), the team will start cutting the body of the aircraft, and at the same time search for the remains of the pilot, Navy Major Suwelo Wibisino who may still be in the aircrat’s fuselage,” Tanjungpinang naval chief CommodoreAmong Margono said at Kawal beach on the Bintan-Tanjungpinang border area in Riau Islands.
The NomadN22 P-817 will be set up as a monument in the front yard of the Suwelo Wibisono mess in the Satudarmabar Complex, the Tanjungpinang naval base commander said.
